    Overview.

In this review, I cover the common types of hosting that Bluehost offers for WordPress websites. WordPress Shared Hosting, WP Pro Hosting, WooCommerce Hosting, and VPS Hosting. If you are looking for an enterprise-level solution, Bluehost can set you up on their Dedicated Hosting. You will be able to run WordPress on any of the plans I review but some plans are better than others. Let’s have a look at what Bluehost has to offer.

    Quickies.

    About Bluehost Hosting.

Bluehost is one of the leading web hosting companies in the world right now. They were founded in 2003 and are based in Orem, Utah. Bluehost has been recommended by WordPress since 2005 and currently hosts over 2 million websites. They have dedicated WordPress experts on staff to help at all times. Bluehost even has development staff members who work on WordPress Core full-time. These are just some of the features included in every hosting plan they offer:

    • Solid State Drive Storage.
    • SSL Certificate.
    • Resource Protection.
    • WordPress Auto Installation.
    • WordPress Auto Updates.
    • Free Domain for the First Year.
    • 24/7 Expert Support.
    • Office 365 Available.

    About Bluehost’s Shared WordPress Hosting.

Bluehost offers 3 levels of shared WordPress hosting, Basic, Plus and Choice Plus. The Plus and Choice Plus plans are only a couple dollars more and are a much better value than the lower plan. You will be able to host an unlimited number of websites and also unlimited subdomains and unmetered SSD storage. These plans are very affordable but they are fairly basic. If you have a small website with not a lot of traffic, these plans will work great. If you have a large website and are looking for added speed and security you really should consider the WP Pro hosting.

    About Bluehost’s WP Pro Hosting.

The WP Pro plans come in 3 levels, the Build, Grow and Scale. They are a bit more expensive than the shared plans but they are the real deal. These plans will give you advanced security and performance features specifically designed for WordPress. Google puts a high value on website performance and will lower your SEO score for having a slow website. If you are serious about the growth of your website traffic and want to develop a professional WordPress website, you really need to be on the WP Pro plan. Some of the features of WP Pro:

    • Fully Managed.
    • Unlimited Websites.
    • Unlimited Storage.
    • No Traffic Limits.
    • Social Media Integration.
    • All-in-one Marketing Center.
    • 24/7 WordPress Support.
    • Caching and CDN Enabled.
    • Built-in Spam Protection.

    About Bluehost’s WooCommerce Hosting.

Bluehost’s WooCommerce hosting has a few more features than the shared WordPress hosting like more storage, domain privacy, a dedicated IP address, and a few other features. It is a better plan than the shared WordPress hosting but if I was running a WooCommerce store I would strongly consider putting it on the WP Pro hosting plan. Either plan will do well for your WooCommerce website but the WP Pro is going to be faster and more secure.

Which Bluehost Plan is Best for Me?

If you are running an eCommerce website and it is more than just a hobby, you should definitely get the WP Pro Hosting. I know they have a hosting product that is marketed as specifically for WooCommerce, but the WP Pro Hosting plan is going to provide a much faster and secure solution for you.

If you are a hobbyist and are doing a website for fun, the WordPress Shared Hosting is going to work just fine for you. But, if you are serious about the security, performance and future success of your website, you really should consider the WP Pro Hosting. It is just a far more superior product.

If you are running a large business or high traffic website, you might be ready to make the jump to a VPS solution. These servers are extremely fast and very secure. Bluehost also offers Dedicated Servers but if you need one of these, I assume you know what you’re doing.

Should I Move to Bluehost VPS (Virtual Private Server) Hosting?

If you need a more advanced solution, check out the VPS hosting. These plans are for business websites, sites with lots of traffic, large eCommerce stores and people who are serious about the performance and security of their website.

Bluehost uses only high-performance components and use the KVM hypervisor to guarantee your server resources are there whenever you need them.

    Free SSL Certificate.

An SSL certificate will provide an encrypted connection to your website. This will ensure that all of your data is secure, allow eCommerce or accept donations and provide an overall layer of security to your website.

    Super Scalability.

Bluehost’s VPS hosting offers an enhanced cPanel where you can view and scale your server resources without admin assistance.

    WHM and cPanel.

All VPS plans include their improved cPanel user interface, WHM control and the ability to manage your VPS.

You will be up and running immediately because Bluehost provisions their virtual private servers in minutes rather than days.

The Bluehost support team will help you with any issues you may encounter along the way.
